What the Verified employer badge on a job means, and how an employer earns it.
Who has to verify
Every employer must complete verification before publishing any public job, regardless of company size.
On a job, the badge looks like this
Verified employerIt appears only once verification is complete, and only while the job still carries the employer name that was verified. A role an agency posts on a client’s behalf carries no badge, because the client was not the company verified.
How an employer verifies
Either of these methods completes verification.
A work email on the company’s own domain
The employer confirms a one-time code sent to a work email address on the company’s own domain. That proves control of the domain, not ownership of the name — company registration evidence is what CalHire staff check.
Company registration and evidence
The employer submits company registration details and supporting evidence, which CalHire staff review. Our target is to complete a review within 48 hours; it is a target, not a guarantee.
Confidential roles
An employer can post a role confidentially. A confidential role shows neither the employer’s name nor the badge, so nothing on the posting points to a specific company. The employer still has to be verified to publish it.
