Getting your company verified
Publishing a job requires a completed verification. This is why, what is checked, and what it buys you.
Why it is required
Candidates on CalHire are anonymous, which means they cannot do on you the background check they would normally do on a company before applying. The relationship starts from your side, so they have less to go on, not more.
Verification restores that balance: we check the employer so the candidate does not have to. It applies at every company size, and to recruiting agencies as well as direct employers.
What is checked
Your company's domain, or its registration record — evidence that the organisation exists and that you are acting for it. Where the registration route is used, a member of staff reviews it.
One limitation, stated plainly: verification attests the company, not the free-text display name you chose before verifying. Those are usually the same thing, and the staff review catches the cases where they are not, but the check is on the organisation.
How long it takes
The domain route is fast. The registration route depends on a staff review.
Until verification completes you can create and draft jobs, but you cannot publish one. If publishing is blocked and you are not sure why, an incomplete verification is the first thing to check.

Agencies
Agencies clear the same gate as direct employers before publishing. The verification screen for an agency account lives under the agency section rather than the employer one.
