Posting your first role
Posting on CalHire is close to what you are used to, with two differences worth knowing before you start: you have to be verified to publish, and candidates arrive anonymous.
1. Get verified first
Publishing a job requires a completed employer verification, at every company size. It is a one-time check, and it is what the "verified employer" badge on your listings means to a candidate. See getting your company verified.
2. Write the role
Describe the work and the skills it needs. The AI drafting assistant can produce a first pass from a few inputs — it writes about the role, never about any candidate.
Set the location country. A role without one cannot appear on the public job board, which is the single most common reason a new listing seems to go nowhere.
3. What your pipeline looks like
Candidates reach you as verified scores under anonymous handles. You will find you compare them on the evidence, because at that stage the evidence is all there is.
You cannot see names, employers, education, photos or contact details, and there is no route through the product to request them early. That constraint is the product; it is not a setting an administrator can change for your tenant.
4. Progressing someone
Shortlist, schedule and interview as normal. Once a candidate is far enough along you can request a reveal — they agree, and only then do you learn who they are. See how and when you see a candidate's identity.
5. Closing someone out
Declining sends a growth-framed report card automatically. There is no way to decline someone silently, and no automated process that declines anyone on your behalf: a person on your team makes every such decision and is recorded as having made it.
An application you never respond to closes itself after 21 days and the candidate is told. You can shorten that window; you cannot remove it.
6. Your own applicants
You can invite candidates who applied to you directly, and they go through the same verified assessment. No placement fee applies to a candidate who applied to you directly — see plans, limits and fees.
